Are you looking for a tool to help you resolve conflicts amongst children and adolescents?

The Gefühlsmonsters are well-suited for school mediation where children can quickly learn how to resolve their tensions on their own. Over time, children will use the images as part of their vocabulary and say, for example: “I feel like the monster under the carpet.”.

On Monday I used the Gefühlsmonster cards in an anti-bullying session. At the beginning the students could choose a card that describes their feelings about bullying.

Asked about the reason for his choice, he replied that he was sometimes a perpetrator and that it was cool to be stronger, it felt good.

“A very committed class teacher asked me as a school social worker if I had an idea to help Martina that she wasn’t so afraid of the math test. Martina understands the tasks, but during a test forgets everything. The teacher had already explained to the whole class different techniques to calm down.
I used the Gefühlsmonsters. First I worked out her feelings with Martina, with the help of the monster cards. My next question was whether she thought that this feeling monster could help her to remember that she could actually do it if it was in her pencil case. She wanted to try it.
About 4 months later I asked Martina if the chosen monster card would help her with the work. With shining eyes she looked at me and said “I got a B in math and it helps me otherwise!”
